Alex Spencer shows he's a mega star in the making
Gig review: Alex Spencer at The Lower Third in London, final stage of his sold out UK tour.
What a way to conclude a totally sold out UK tour. The London gig at The Lower Third in Denmark Street in London, was sold out, making it 6 out of 6 in his 2026 UK tour. Alex Spencer not only delivered an incredible show once again, but he even showed he keeps getting better and better. This young man from Manchester is destined for greatness. He's a mega star in the making. Out of 3 EP's plus 2 further singles, it's very hard to find a song that doesn't deserve to be on the setlist.
Moreover, Alex Spencer shows real showmanship, he doesn't know how to get nervous, he owns the place the moment he steps on the stage and his charisma shines through.
It wasn't too long since he was on tour with Corella, playing in front of big audiences. That didn't stop him from selling tickets at a very fast pace for his own tour. Out of 6 gigs across the country, there wasn't a single unsold ticket. The whole tour was sold out and he could have sold even more.
He started the set with some of his uplifting tunes and got the audience singing and jumping.
Love And Let Go
One Step Forward
Where Do We Go From Here
Waiting For The Change
Do What I Wanna
All This Will Be Gone
Clouded Thinking
A heartfelt speech and a magical performance of Masks
Around the middle of the set, he put his guitar away, 3 members of his band took a break, leaving just him and the keyboard player on stage. He asked the audience to pay attention for 3 minutes. He had a very important message about mental health and the stigma around it. He was obviously emotional but that didn't stop him. He had decided to get out his comfort zone, share his vulnerability and send a message that hopefully could help some people who may be struggling. "We don't speak enough" he said. And he's absolutely right.
He then fought his way through a very emotional performance of his wonderful song Masks, which he released in November 2025. You can see in the video, when emotions got him at some point, he just fought back and totally smashed it. That's trully rockstar attitude.
Sometimes musicians write songs just based on ideas. Sometimes they write songs by experimenting on instruments or software. But there are also songs that are written with tears in the eyes. Songs that come from emotions, from struggles, from pain. And those are the songs that people can relate to. Masks is one of those authentic inspired songs. It has already touched a lot of people. There is every chance, some people will be helped by just listening to that song.
Someone can listen to Masks and hear their own story being detailed by Alex Spencer, even if they have never met him. In addition to that, the lyrics are so well written. This song has so much quality in every aspect. It deserves to be discovered by as many people as possible.
Nightmares
After such an emotional performance, it was time for an upbeat song. It may be called Nightmares, but it's a song that made some of his dreams come true. At the age of 17, he had a song in FIFA / EA FC 25. This song.
Farewell To Forever
As the enthusiam returned, he then played his new single, Farewell To Forever. Of course the fans knew every word of the new song.
Bucket List
He completed the set with songs from his previous EP's.
These Will Be The Days
A Night To Waste
One Way Ticket
The Band
Conclusion
Alex Spencer is a natural showman, full of confidence and endless charisma. He knows how to entertain, he knows how to get the audience to engage, he totally owns the stage. That can't be easy for someone who just turned 19 years old! In fact, he was already that good last year, when I saw him at The Grace. I could use his lyrics and say he's what the future becomes, but I already did it the last time. He's proving his massive potential all the time.
As for his songwriting, He has 16 songs out there and it's difficult to find one that shouldn't be in the setlist. He keeps coming up with incredible songs. You can see it when you go through his set. Banger after banger. Great songs like Pessimistic Nobody couldn't make the cut. His mum who was at the merch desk, said to me "the ones that are coming now, are stonger". Well, if he really has songs that are even better than those, I'd love to hear them!
He had a song in Fifa at the age of 17. That song is heading towards a million streams. By the age of 19, he's widely seen as one of the most exciting upcoming talents in the country. Where does he go from here? Nobody knows, but he has everything it takes to become a mega star. For now, he's off to a European tour supporting Louis Tomlinson, in front of massive crowds.
At the same time, he's totally approachable, friendly and polite to everyone. He has a fast growing base of loyal fans who even learn all his spanish lyrics.
He doesn't have management and agencies doing things for him. He does so many things on his own, with support from his parents. It's hard work, but in return, he retains his freedom as an artist.
If you haven't seen him live yet, go and see him while he still plays at intimate venues.
