Grace Calver brings you Milk

 Milk

Who would have thought Milk would be so cool? The summer is gone and we need new music to reflect that change. Don’t worry, Grace Calver has got us covered. Her last single Nothing Too Serious was a summer song. The new upcoming single, Milk, is very much an autumn song.

Grace Calver is known for her feel-good songs, often with an element of self-sarcasm, very often addressing the drama in her personal life. She likes Weezer, Waterparks, Welly and Wheatus. Wait a minute, what’s going on there? She likes all the bands starting with W??? Then maybe I can encourage her to listen to Whitesnake, although she’s more likely to go for Wet Wet Wet.

Once again, the lyrics get you in a good mood, reminding you how you can just laugh off the little silly annoying things in life and move on. You can always rely on Grace Calver to come up with brilliant unique lyrics like “Accidentally liked his post from 2022 (oops)”.

I also welcome the return of "sister" rhyming with “blister”, so many years after The Housemartins did it, in the song “Me And The Farmer”.

I know Grace likes Paul Heaton (although his name doesn’t start with a W), so it may or may not be a coincidence.

As you go deep into the song, you may start to worry that the song is not mentioning drama in her love life. Don’t worry. It eventually gets to “Will he text me? Will he call? Will I hear from him at all?”

Panic over then. Normal service is resumed.

Just before the announcement

Here's a clip of our little chat at The Grace about Milk.

And here is the song, live at The Grace.

Milk is produced, mixed (or should I say frothered?) and ready to go. It’s out on the 10th of October and Grace said that’s because it’s 10/10. You can pre-save it, best before the 10th. You see, there are plenty of opportunities for puns and jokes, but let’s not milk it.

The song ends in on a very positive note, a brilliant lasting thought:

Now it’s time to get up, it’s a beautiful day
Gonna leave that bad luck to yesterday!
