Revivalry are releasing The Town
With their upcoming single The Town, young rock band Revivalry are practically starting a new era under their new label. The release is scheduled for Friday 7 June 2024, the music video is ready and uploaded, everything is in place.
The song reflects the influences they have from music that was released many years before they were born. It’s really refreshing to see such young musicians being inspired by bands like Dire Straits and then mixing elements of Nirvana, Blur and a little bit of Kaiser Chiefs. Throwing all those elements into the same pot, could cause unpredictable reactions, so don’t try this at home. But in this case, the mixture is just right.
The Town has a classic rock feel to it, with a hint of western sound in the arpeggios, before it explodes into a hard rock sound of the 90’s and early 00’s. It’s like elements of Dire Straits lying under sounds of Nirvana. The transition is like a Blur recipe (Song 2), which works perfectly. So, it’s like going from Dire Straits to Nirvana in Blur style.
It looks like the three teenagers are influenced by life in their home town, Cleethorpes, combined with their obvious ambitions to spread their wings in bigger places. The song is called The Town, but it could have been called Belong. That’s the underlying sense of the song. Although their intention was to talk about life in a small town, the lyrics seem to also reflect on belonging, or rather the sense of not belonging, when getting the look and feel of the surroundings. That’s if you want to think a little bit deeper.
Revivalry are already getting noticed through their distinctive rock sound and their confident stage presence. They are now making a new start under their new label, with a song that is expected to become popular among rock fans.
The high tempo, the guitar riffs and the energy and passion in the voice, along with the rather explosive escalation form verse to chorus, could get you obsessed with this song. It's perfect to get the crowd jumping at live shows and singing along. If you like rock music, you can expect to find yourself singing “Belong” at the top of your voice when you hear this song. The Town has all the elements to become a live show anthem.
Pre-save The Town here
Due to their contractual obligations, we can’t share the song yet, but we’ll soon be able to provide a pre-save link. The official music video is already uploaded onto their Youtube channel and will go live as soon as the song is released. You’ll then be able to see rocking in a garage. That includes a rocking horse in a garage. And here’s another hint: The little clip they’ve shared on social media, is the opening scene of their music video. While it’s evident that it’s a rather low budget production, it’s still a good quality music video. The only link we can share at the moment, is that of their channel.
Take a note of the release date. Friday 7th June 2024.
