Gig review: Sweet Unrest at Amersham Arms

What two words would describe a show full of enjoyable intensity and high energy? What about Sweet Unrest.

The 5-piece rock band delivered a show that perfectly reflects the band’s name, at The Amersham Arms in London.

A set with plenty of energy, guitar distortion, feel-good anthemic rock music, with 2 electric guitars and Jack playing the acoustic in many of the songs. I always say, there’s no such thing as too many guitars.

Their songs take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, but with intensity for the most part. When you’ve enjoyed all those high energy songs and you feel you could do with a little bit of a break from all that intensity, they give you their absolutely beautiful power ballad, Falling For You. I personally love that song. It deserves to be discovered by the masses.

Jack interacted brilliantly with the crowd and in some occasions mixed with them off the stage. Before their set, they were showing their support and respect to the bands playing before them, which shows their class as people too.

Sweet Unrest is a band destined for greatness. Watch them at intimate venues while you still can.
