Gig review: The Deniros at Amersham Arms
What could be a great warm up act, before Sweet Unrest go on stage? The Deniros definitely seemed to be ideal for the situation, as they provided great entertainment with their music and their antics on (and off) stage, at Amersham Arms.
Brilliant rock music and a lot of entertainment, some of it planned, some just accidental chaos. That included Kris losing his balance while trying to get back on stage, knocking the mic stand over and losing his microphone. They couldn’t have done it better if they had planned it.
The band is named after Robert De Niro. As it happens, their drummer seems to look like a young Robert De Niro, from the movie Taxi Driver. Their approach is to entertain with a mixture of catchy rock music and their theatrical displays. They give a lot of energy and make sure they lift their fans.
Their music has elements of old funky, punk, rock, soul and pop. They appear in uniform, with a retro style that refers to some of the characters played by the great man.
Feels
The Deniros are releasing their new single Feels this Friday. They didn’t play it on Friday, but you’ll soon be able to stream it.
