Apollo Junction back with a banger
Early single review: Falling - Apollo Junction
Good things come to those who wait. It’s over a year since the last release by Apollo Junction and we’re getting rewarded for our patience. Their new single Falling is an absolute banger, just what you would expect from the 5-piece indie pop-rock band from Yorkshire.
For someone who loves the 80’s and also loves new music, this is just perfect. It’s a fresh sound influenced by the 80’s, giving you a pleasant feeling, despite the element of struggle in the lyrics. It probably reflects the way they have felt at times along this journey, like 4 years ago when they faced the possibility of giving up. Thankfully they didn’t. They have given us more brilliant music to enjoy and there’s a lot more coming up in 2025.The production reflects a combination of electronic sound and electric guitars, perfectly blending with Jamie’s voice. The song is very much in line with the band’s character and has the elements of a live show anthem. Expect it to be a hit at live shows.
Ironically, Apollo Junction have been on a rough road towards success, but they never gave up when others might have done. It took many years of struggles, sacrifices, sleepless nights. They kept going, they stayed determined and continued to grow their community, the AJ Family. In 2023 they released their 3rd album titled “Here We Are” which got in the official UK Charts, with popular songs including Magic, By The River and the title track Here We Are, added to a list of hits including Light Up The Sky, Begin, Unknowns and Sometimes.
In recent months they had their biggest ever headline tour, followed by outdoor summer shows with Richard Ashcroft (twice), Shed Seven, The Sherlocks and also Moto Grand Prize at Silverstone supporting The Darkness and on The Isle Of Wight Festival Main Stage 2024. They’re still looking forward to their emotional homecoming, their headline show in Leeds which is delayed by a few months.
Songs of Apollo Junction have featured on countless TV productions, movies, adverts and video games. Many football clubs would dream of featuring on Match Of The Day as many times as Apollo Junction have done.
